Teed Protect

Independent review and exercising of Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Resilience and Cybersecurity response capabilities

Teed Protect is an assurance service we have developed to provide an independent specialist audit of your organisation’s preparedness across the Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Cybersecurity spectrum. A focus on comprehensive resilience will provide comfort to stakeholders that you are actively strengthening the business to withstand disruptive incidents, whilst safeguarding brand and reputation.

Teed Protect enhances your existing insurance policies, contractual arrangements and internal policies, confirming the necessary analysis, planning and exercising is being undertaken for effective response capabilities to be in place. With Teed Protect, impacts are kept within acceptable levels when faced with the consequences of an adverse situation.

Review & Exercise

Teed Protect comprises independent Review and Exercising activities that consider the risks and threats facing your business from the perspective of business continuity, disaster recovery and cybersecurity, clarifying any gaps between “required” versus “achievable” recovery capabilities.

Key Assurance Elements of Teed Protect

  • Review: assesses risks and threats to operations and services
  • Gap analysis: clarifies gaps in recovery capabilities
  • Recommendations: categorises and prioritises improvement actions
  • Exercise: validates preparedness, raises awareness
  • Compliance: confirmation of compliance with good practice

Teed Protect identifies improvement actions that should be taken before an incident occurs to ensure you are fully prepared. Identified findings and recommendations will be categorised and prioritised by their level of importance.

During tabletop exercising, key managers and responders will be challenged with evolving scenarios giving them an appreciation of what is expected of them, how to manage the different phases and elements of an incident effectively, including internal and external communications.

An ever-expanding list of scenarios includes cyber attack, data breach, technology failure, telecommunications disruption, information loss, terrorism, storm, hurricane, earthquake, volcanic ash, fire, flood, pandemic, industrial action, access denial, key equipment breakdown, supplier loss, supply chain disruption, sanctions, people loss, utility failure.

A business continuity preparedness rating out of 10 is allocated, using a proven scoring method, against five factors: People, Documentation, Communication, Solutions and Exposure.

The scope, objectives, approach, participants and timescales will be determined at the outset of the service. For SMEs, Teed Protect can encompass the whole organisation and its technologies. For larger, highly regulated, or more complex enterprises, the focus can differ each year, taking account of drivers, risks and areas of concern. For example, there could be an emphasis on emergency response, incident management, technology recovery, cybersecurity response, business contingencies, third party risk management, operational resilience.
