Services

The diagram above highlights the services that Teed Business Continuity provide to support the typical flow for implementing and maintaining business continuity management.

Review
An organisation would benefit from an independent review of their business continuity or disaster recovery arrangements, whatever their level of preparedness. Teed provide an external specialist consultant, with relevant industry experience, to discuss and agree an appropriate scope for the review and then coordinate the review process accordingly.

A relatively small number of consultancy days are typically required for the review process, as our experienced consultants will very quickly get an accurate picture of the current preparedness, via the analysis of existing plans, organisation structures, infrastructure listings and other supporting material and also through structured questioning of key individuals. A Business_Continuity_Preparedness_Rating can be provided upon request.

Assumptions or statements will not be accepted unless the consultant is confident that these are supported through implemented actions, test reports or other means. Any uncertainties will be highlighted within the review output report.

BS25999 Review
BS25999 is the new British Standard for Business Continuity Management published in 2006 as a Code of Practice BS25999-1 and in November 2007 as a Specification, BS25999-2.

The Specification is used to assess an organisation’s ability to meet regulatory, customer and its own requirements. Although there is currently no requirement for organisations to achieve accreditation, it is likely that with the Standard in existence and providing a recognised, formal approach to implementing BCM, there will be a raised expectation from stakeholders for organisations to be able to demonstrate alignment with the Standard.

To complement our existing Review service, Teed’s consultants can conduct an independent review of clients’ BCM arrangements in order to identify whether the necessary components are in place to satisfy the requirements of BS25999-2. This is in effect a ‘gap analysis’ with the aim of providing the client with an impression of their state of readiness for BS25999-2. The analysis will highlight areas of the client’s BCM that would need to be improved upon or developed in order to meet with the Specification and will be presented to the client in a review output report.

Teed can assist the client with ‘filling the gaps’ of their BCM system and, irrespective of whether the client wishes to pursue a formal BSI assessment, the client can be assured that their BCM will be in line with best practice.

Teed now has a BSI trained Lead Auditor who can oversee the entire process ensuring an organisation is fully prepared to apply for BS 25999 accrediation.

Supply Chain Continuity - Key Suppliers' BC Preparedness
Teed are increasingly asked to review the effectiveness of business continuity management for client’s key external suppliers. During this process a way forward will be identified that would ensure any critical dependencies upon suppliers will be identified and dealt with accordingly. Supplier contracts may need to be altered, identified business continuity actions implemented, insurance policies taken out, contingency suppliers identified or other action carried out to take away the dependency and reduce any potential impacts to within acceptable levels.

A report will be delivered following any Audit or review that includes an indication of current preparedness level, a summary of the main issues identified, an Action_Plan stating the key actions that are now required and the options for going forward to improve upon current preparedness. The report will be written at an appropriate level of the anticipated audience, which could be senior management, customers, internal auditors or other stakeholders.

Upon request a further review can be carried out, once any recommended actions have been implemented, and independent confirmation provided on Teed’s letterhead that effective business continuity management is in place and best practice has been adopted. This can prove a powerful tool for satisfying stakeholders and potentially can provide businesses with a marketing differentiator.
