Response and Recovery |
In the event of a crisis situation, specialist advice and assistance is available to help manage the situation and ensure that the subsequent recovery is coordinated effectively.
An on-call service to ensure that an experienced business continuity consultant or crisis manager will be available in the event of a real, or potential, crisis situation to provide the following:
- Guidance during emergency response and incident management to ensure that actions are being prioritised correctly, internal & external communication are being managed effectively and business continuity plans are being followed in an appropriate manner
- Advice and assistance to ensure business and resource recovery targets are met, where possible, and impacts are kept within acceptable levels
- Input in respect of current issues with business continuity programme that could impact decisions or recovery capabilities (e.g. outstanding actions)
- An independent view on whether the crisis and recovery are being managed effectively
- If required, the consultant can take on the role of an impartial observer which is likely to involve the taking of notes detailing issues and observations (this could prove a useful reference tool to justify actions taken during any subsequent review)
- Input in respect of how other organisations have managed similar crisis situations
- Communication with third parties that can provide appropriate services in relation to response, resumption, recovery and restoration phases
