Plan Maintenance |
Hands-on management of a plan maintenance programme to ensure appropriate action is being taken to keep plans and recovery strategies effective and up to date
A business continuity consultant will design and agree a maintenance programme that:
- Details the responsibilities of all individuals with a role to play in maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Defines the regularity and type of contacts that are to be made by Teed Business Continuity to the organisation’s representatives
- Maintains the list of outstanding actions on an ongoing basis
- Audits compliance with agreed plan maintenance responsibilities
- Provides periodic compliance reports confirming whether or not the maintenance schedule is being observed and notification of any issues or problems as they arise
- Summarises the type and regularity of exercises that are to be carried out
- Ensures business continuity issues are considered during organisation, staff and infrastructure changes
Teed Business Continuity representatives will manage the maintenance programme keeping detailed information of all actions taken and contacts made to ensure that auditors and other stakeholders can be satisfied that business continuity plans are maintained effectively
Hosting – Up to date DR & BC Plans and key information will be maintained by Teed Business Continuity (either on line or at a secure location) in a manner that will ensure quick availability in the event of a crisis situation
Hosting plans via Teed Business Continuity will provide an added safeguard that up to date plans are always maintained offsite and can also simplify the process of updating plans
An appropriate hosting set up will be designed and agreed, which may involve one of the following:
- Hosting plans and documentation via a secure web service, which can be accessed and printed off from any internet connected PC post-incident
- Updated plan information sent to Teed Business Continuity by secure e-mail on an ongoing basis and maintained in a DR Folder in a manner that will allow plan and key information to e-mailed or printed off post-incident
- Hard copy of plan and relevant information maintained by Teed Business Continuity in a secure office location. This can be made available and delivered post-incident
It is important that an organisation owns and maintains the master copy of their BC & DR plans and related information offsite in a manner that will ensure quick availability. This hosting service can be used to provide a backup to reduce the possibility of key information not being available
