Local Authorities

Teed Business Continuity consultants have worked for half a dozen UK local authorities, helping them ensure that key public services can continue in the event of an incident impacting upon key Council IT, network or office resources, complementing their community emergency plans.

The 2004 Civil Contingencies Act has put business continuity well and truly on the agenda for UK local authorities. Our straightforward, proven methods are ideal for ensuring that the Act's requirements are satisfied and to ensure that we can communicate these in a practical and affordable way we have designed a business continuity training and review event purely for Councils.

There is a misconception amongst many local authorities that business continuity is very expensive. This does not have to be the case, providing the business impact analysis is focused upon identifying information that will allow cost effective and affordable recovery solutions to be identified. Workarounds are often feasible within services areas that will buy IT departments more time to recover systems, data and networks, thus ensuring in-house solutions which make full use of the existing infrastructure and estate become a viable option.
