Business Impact Analysis |
The Business Impact Analysis, or BIA, is the cornerstone of any business continuity project as it is the process used to determine the impacts on the organisation arising from an adverse situation and the recovery requirements of the organisation’s functions, operations and services. This information provides the input to the remaining phases of a business continuity project to ensure that the subsequently developed plans and recovery strategies meet the organisation’s needs and the risk_assessment targets the threats to the critical areas of the organisation.
Ideally the results of the BIA should be presented to senior management and their agreement sought as to the relative recovery priorities and recovery requirements of the various parts of the organisation.
How can Teed Business Continuity help? As with all of our services, we take a flexible approach to helping you meet your needs and have the experience which comes from having conducted BIAs for numerous clients.
We can use our experience to develop a BIA methodology which will be appropriate for your organisation, including the information to be gathered, how it should be obtained and how the results should be presented.
We can use face-to-face interviews, questionnaires, tailored workshops involving relevant individuals (or even a mixture of these) with the aim being to gather the required information with the least time demand on the organisation’s employees. Teed Business Continuity can then either conduct all or part of the BIA or provide training to allow the BIA to be conducted by internal employees.
