David Teed receives Award of Merit from IOSH
18 May 2011
On 28 April, David Teed was honoured with an Award of Merit from the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH), West of Scotland branch.
The Award is given to people, although not health and safety professionals, who have shown considerable enthusiasm and contributed significantly to furthering health and safety within the workplace.
On receiving the Award, David said “I am delighted and honoured to be given the Award of Merit by IOSH. Business continuity planning sits naturally with health and safety providing an additional focus on safety of staff following an incident and this award is recognition of the close links between these disciplines.”
At a meeting of the IOSH West of Scotland branch last October, Teed Business Continuity was invited to present on the thought-provoking topic of:
Are you in control of tomorrow’s events today? Reducing the impact of disruptive events.
Around 50 IOSH members came to hear David speak on the importance of health and safety professionals becoming actively involved in business continuity planning and promoting awareness of pre- and post-incident roles and responsibilities throughout the organisation.
